What to watch checklist, what to watch on prime video, what to watch on hulu, what to watch on netflix, best things to stream right now, best shows to watch right now, best movies to watch right now, at home movie night

I reached a point a few weeks ago where I felt like I had literally watched every single show and movie that could possibly be streamed, and there was nothing else to watch. Of course I knew I had to solve this problem, and I also knew that I couldn’t possibly be alone. Between my own research, recommendations from friends and family, and watching a lot of tv, I can up with the *ultimate* list of things to stream right now. I personally have Netflix, Hulu (with live tv), and Prime video, and I stream with an Amazon Firestick. I know IMDb also has some great free shows and movies, and other services like HBO are starting to offer freebies too. I included a great mix of different genres of shows + movies so there’s something for everyone. Everything is listed in alphabetical order by streaming service to make it easy to find something you love!

I hope this post will inspire you to break out of your streaming rut and have fun with this downtime! Also, to answer your question...yes, I watch a lot of tv.

Before I wrap things up, I wanted to share some ways to make your streaming marathon extra special. I have a few “essentials” for the perfect at-home binge session. Obviously, you need a warm blanket or two and some comfy clothes. I’m not going to lie, I’ve been living in pajamas lately, but when I want to get more “dressed up”, I’ve been wearing cute matching lounge sets.

Another streaming-related favorite of mine is the Reelgood app. From their website: “Reelgood is a new app that brings all the content from your streaming services and all the free movies and shows from around the internet into one interface.” Basically, it allows you to select the streaming services you pay for, and then it makes a huge list of every single show and movie available! You can search for specific movies/shows if you aren’t sure where to stream, and Reelgood will tell you where you can watch. You can even search by actor! Shows that you’ve already watched can be marked as “watched” so they are hidden from the huge library of options.

I can’t believe it took me this long to find this app! It’s life changing. You can also get email notifications when new episodes of your favorite shows are available to stream. I know I’m not the only person who regularly Googles “best things to watch on Netflix/Hulu/Prime”, and now you’ll never have to make that search again!

Elevate your streaming experience by having an at-home "movie-theater" night (or day)! Sadly, we can’t go to the movie theater right now, but you can still create that movie-theater-like-setting from the comfort of your home. A good variety of snacks is a must! One plus side to being at home is that you can be a little more elaborate with your snack choices. I definitely recommend eating what you have in your kitchen - it’s not worth making a trip to the store. A few of my movie-marathon snacking favorites are popcorn (obviously), crackers + cheese, caramel M&M’s, butterscotch pudding, Oreos, and apples. You could even make it into a lunch or dinner date and get takeout or delivery from your favorite restaurant! Remember that your favorite small businesses + restaurants need our support now more than ever.

Next up, you’ll want to close the blinds and shut the lights off so it’s nice and dark. Put away all distractions (yes, that means your phone), and get all snuggled up on your couch or in your favorite chair. If you really want to go all out, it’s always fun to build a blanket fort/pillow bed in the living room. It’s as simple as it sounds - grab all the pillows and blankets in your house and put them in a pile to make the perfect cozy lounge area for your marathon! We’ve all been watching a lot of tv and movies lately, and mixing things up and making it fun is a great way to take your mind off of things. Of course, the bigger the pillow fort, the more fun it is!

We may be home for a while, but we might as well make the best of it! I don’t consider myself “stuck” at home, I look at it from the point of view that I’m lucky to be safe in my own home.

I realize this list was looooong, so I made a few images you can save to your camera roll and refer back to next time you’re looking for something to watch. Leave a comment adding your favorites, and together we can make the ultimate streaming list for this season of life!
