One of the biggest revelations I had, when I moved to college, was that there was nobody there to clean up after me (shocking, I know). I quickly realized that growing up, my mom did so much behind the scenes that I never even realized. From keeping our laundry done to just overall keeping our house looking put-together and clean. First up, let’s talk about smells. You might have pets, kids, a stinky boyfriend or husband – the list goes on and on. My third tip is to focus on laundry and dishes. I’ve noticed that the two main sources of stress when it comes to my home are laundry and dishes. When these are done, even if the rest of the house is in shambles, I feel much more put-together and relaxed. The easiest way to stay on top of this for me is to wash the dishes we use at the end of every day so they don’t pile up. For laundry, I bought smaller laundry baskets that are the exact size of a load in our washing machine. We have a really small washer and dryer, so using smaller laundry baskets helps me visually see when it’s time to do a load of laundry. The huge baskets we were using before held 4-5 loads of laundry, and that got really overwhelming! When I see one of our tiny laundry baskets getting full, I throw in a load of laundry (with my Snuggle® Scent Shakes™, of course). It’s as simple as that! Don’t let it build up, or you will get really overwhelmed.
Having an always-put-together home is easier than you’d think. By focusing on these three main areas of my home, I keep it looking (and smelling) like a million bucks.
