The transition from summer into fall can be super stressful for a lot of people. I know I've definitely been feeling the end-of-summer blues and my stress levels have been slightly higher than normal! I've preached it a million times on here, but I think self-care is so important. Sometimes it's hard to step back and take a break, but you need to. Here are a few simple ways you can easily reduce stress and boost your happiness. Remember that this stress is only temporary, and 5 years from now it won't even matter!

DO A FACE MASK // Face masks have always been my favorite way to unwind. I have been doing them at least once a week every week since middle school. I'm actually new to the magnetic face mask trend, but I was super excited to see what the hype was about. I had the opportunity to try out this awesome face mask from a new affordable luxury skincare company called Vivo Per Lei. After applying the mask, I waited for about 10 minutes for it to dry. Then came the fun part! Using the magnet provided, I went over my whole face and the mask came right off. This sounds super weird, but I love how strong the magnet is. I've tried one other magnetic face mask, and when I did, the magnet was barely strong enough to take the mask off. I ended up having to wash off the spots where the magnet didn't work. But the Vivo Per Lei mask definitely does not have that problem! After the magnet got off every single last remnant of the mask (I'm still so impressed), it left behind a layer of moisturizing oils that I then massaged into my face. It left my skin feeling so smooth and refreshed, plus the magnetic aspect of the mask is super fun! This mask is one of my new favorites. Vivo Per Lei has a lot of other cool masks that I hope to try out soon. Not all masks are made equal - and I am so obsessed with the quality of this magnetic one! DISCONNECT // Having 24-7 access to social media and the internet can cause you more stress than you may realize. When I'm feeling overwhelmed, I love to pick out a movie on Netflix (or go rent one) and turn off my phone and laptop. Having 2 hours of uninterrupted time to immerse yourself in a good movie can be the exact reset you need. Sometimes I do this alone, but I usually am happiest when I'm watching a movie with Nick or my family!

GET A TREAT // One of my favorite ways to treat myself is going to get ice cream or coffee. It's a small, inexpensive treat, but it can totally change my mood. I also really enjoy trying out a new coffee shop when I'm doing computer work or even when I'm grabbing something to-go. Sometimes a change of scenery is the perfect fix for a stressful day.

WORKOUT // As much as I dread working out, it really does boost happiness. Science says it's true, but I also can say it from personal experience. I'm not a fan of going to an actual gym, but there are so many ways you can get out there and be active that don't involve a gym. Some of my favorite ways are going for a long walk, hiking at a new location, going for a swim, taking a new workout class, or trying a new workout video from Youtube. Find a fun way to get active and get those endorphins flowing and you will notice your stress melting away!

USE YOUR PLANNER // Sometimes I get super overwhelmed when I have a million things on my plate. Between blogging, college, my photography business, working, and trying to balance 5,000 things at once, my brain feels like it's moving at a million miles per hour. When I feel like completely shutting down and just doing nothing, I pull out my planner and I write EVERYTHING down. Places I need to go, projects I'm working on, things I want to do, fun things, events, bills, adult things I have to do, vacations, work, deadlines, etc. Then I take this massive list and break it down. I assign a few things for myself to do each day. Doing this lets me clear my mind, thereby reducing my stress levels. I have some other really great posts on planning and scheduling HERE, HERE, and HERE.
